Some interesting seminar and conferences "in" Montreal

Symplectic zoominar

Organised by CRM-Montreal, Princeton/IAS, Tel Aviv and Paris
Friday from 9:15am to 10:45am, Zoom link

The symplectic seminar is a weekly specialized seminar on symplectic topology and related topics; it welcomes researchers from all over the world. Warning: the talks are usually not for the broad mathematics community, but for those more knowledgeable on symplectic topology.

Geometry and topology seminar

Organised by CIRGET
Friday from 11:00am to 12:00pm, Zoom link

The geometry and topology seminar is a weekly event welcoming researchers in geometry and topology, as the name would suggest. Since the subject of geometry and topology is quite broad, the talks are usually less technical and thus, understandable for the broad mathematics community.

Colloque des sciences mathématiques du Québec

Organised by ISM
Friday from 3:30pm to 4:30pm

The Colloque des sciences mathématiques du Québec is a weekly event welcoming world reknown researchers from every branch of mathematics. The accessibility of the talks varies greatly depending on who is speaking. It also doubles as a reception when there are prizes given by ISM or CRM.

Séminaire étudiant en mathématiques

Organised by AECSMS
Returning soon!

The Séminaire étudiant en mathématiques is organised by and is for graduate students in mathematics. It consists mostly of talks given by graduate students at Université de Montréal, but also sometimes features graduate students from other Montreal universities. It aims to be accessible to anyone with a bachelor degree in mathematics.

About me

Photo de moi

I have just completed a PhD in symplectic topology at Université de Montréal under the supervision of Octav Cornea. I am beginning a postdoc at ETH Zürich this autumn. My current research deals mostly with metric constraints on Lagrangian submanifolds and the impact it has on their algebraic properties in the Fukaya category of a symplectic manifold.

Apart from mathematics, my interests lie in art house cinema, music, specialty coffee, and mushroom foraging. You can usually find me at any university event with free food and drinks
