Résumé
Maynard (2019) answered positively a pretty simple but interesting question: are there infinitely many prime numbers without 7 as a digit? His full result gives an asymptotic formula for the number of prime numbers, expressed in a sufficiently large base, that omit a sufficiently small set of digits. One can study this problem in the ring of polynomials over finite fields, which works nicely as a testing ground for the integers as they share many properties. Porritt (2019) proved an analogue of Maynard’s result, putting the restriction on the coefficients of the polynomials. But one can express polynomials over an arbitrary base just as in the integer case, here the digits will be other polynomials of degree smaller than the base, while for the canonical base T the digits are simply elements of the finite field. In this talk we explain how we got an analogous result for polynomials expressed in arbitrary bases. This is joint work with Matilde Lalín.
