Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Department of Mathematics and Statistic (DMS) at Université de Montréal. The DMS has built a solid reputation over the years. It is a dynamic department that offers both graduate and undergraduate programs including a COOP program for undergraduate students specializing in actuarial science and statistics.

The Department offers a particularly stimulating research environment for graduate students. It is home to the internationally-recognized Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) Canada’s first research centre in mathematics and is part of the Institut des sciences mathématiques (ISM). The ISM provides students with the opportunity to attend courses in any one of Montreal ’ s four universities. Both graduate and undergraduate students can thus benefit from the city’s rich pool of researchers in the field of mathematics and statistics. The on-site Statistical Consulting Service (SCS) also contribute to the richness of the research environment.
